Shamanism has been in existence since the earliest epoch of man.  Anthropologists, archaeologists, historians, and others have discovered universal, cross-cultural shamanic practices and themes from every corner of the globe. 

Shamanism and shamanic practice is not a religion and does not seek to propagate any particular set of beliefs or practices into the world.  It is however grounded in universal ethics the likes of which can be found in the natural world; in nature.  Unlike many traditional religions where there are tenants of faith to be learned and followed, a shaman gains knowledge through direct personal spiritual experience.
